Kane County jobs committee previews 2026 goals, will add goal tags to agendas and places reports on file

The Kane County Jobs Committee on Nov. 14 discussed a proposed set of six measurable goals for 2026 and asked staff to make those goals a standing reference for monthly agendas.
Madam Chair introduced the draft goals and said they would appear on every Jobs Committee agenda next year and would “kinda be our marching orders for next year.” Members were asked to review the list and return suggested edits; the committee planned a final vote or formalization in January.
Committee member Chris Tote suggested staff tag agenda items with the goal they advance so the committee can track alignment. Tote told members he would include the World Business Chicago economic dashboard in future staff updates if the committee wanted a regular regional data briefing.
On procedural business, the chair requested unanimous consent to place staff reports on file; Allen moved and a second was provided. Members approved the motion by unanimous consent with no roll‑call vote recorded. The chair noted the new workforce director officially begins Monday and that either the new director or staff would present regular workforce reports to the committee going forward.
Members asked staff to return an agenda item in January for a more detailed discussion of the dashboard and for finalizing the committee’s 2026 goals.
