Christian County declares 'Operation Greenlights' week to honor veterans

The Christian County Commission read and placed on the record a proclamation designating Nov. 10–17, 2025, as "Operation Greenlights" week to honor veterans and those who support them.
Chair Lynn North read the proclamation highlighting the service and sacrifice of military members and their families and referencing National Association of Counties encouragement for local observances. The proclamation notes county appreciation and asks citizens to display green lights in windows of businesses and residences during the designated week.
"Whereas the residents of Christian County have great respect, admiration, and the utmost gratitude for all the men and women who have selflessly served our country," the proclamation reads in part. The commission put the proclamation on the record during the commission communications portion of the Nov. 13 meeting.
Commissioners also discussed internal county recognition of veterans and the role of county employees who have served. The proclamation will be part of county communications about the lighting initiative and related events around Veterans Day.
