Jamie Pierce, secretary of the newly formed Escalon Little League, introduced the league’s volunteer leadership and asked the Escalon Recreation Commission for a partnership to grow youth baseball and softball in the city.
"My name is Jamie Pierce, and I'm proud to serve as the secretary for the newly formed Escalon Little League," Pierce said, listing the organization's volunteer officers and program leads, including President Randy Waters and Treasurer Stephanie Hogan. Pierce said the group aims to "provide a fun, safe, and competitive environment" and to "improve facilities" in partnership with the city.
Chair Trejo thanked the group and said commissioners personally know several of the volunteers. Commissioners expressed support and suggested fundraising and volunteer‑recruitment ideas, including potentially repurposing a fireworks‑booth fundraiser if available. Commissioner Bauer suggested contacting existing nonprofit partners that have run booths in the past.
Commissioners and staff noted that new leagues need volunteers for coaching, facility access and scheduling; staff said they will work with the Little League leadership to identify needs and next steps. The commission did not take a formal vote on a partnership at the meeting; commissioners limited comments to welcoming the group and offering to help connect resources.
The next procedural step for the league will be coordinating with City recreation staff on facility availability, coach recruitment and any permit or facility‑use agreements.
