Bassam, a Public Works staff member, said the corridor carries "approximately 30,000 vehicles per day" and has a posted speed limit of 30 mph. He told commissioners staff has identified hazardous horizontal curvature, fading edge and median striping, and median nose locations that make the route less legible to drivers.
