After public interviews, the council confirmed Jordan DeCampse and Eric Rich by roll-call-style voice votes. Recording secretary Chantal Chambers read member responses aloud during the vote; each member present answered “yes,” producing a unanimous approval for both candidates. Jordan DeCampse thanked the council, saying, “Thank you so much for your, confidence in me,” and Eric Rich said he was “looking forward to getting to work.”
The vacancies arose earlier in the term; the council said one additional applicant, Alex Segura, remained subject to further vetting and will be considered only after administrative checks are complete. Council members described the seats as two-year terms and said newly appointed members will serve as liaisons to up to four schools, attend monthly meetings and perform routine site visits.
Council leaders emphasized expectations for attendance and participation. President Quentin Mezzetin and vice presidents reiterated the rule that members are permitted three absences per term but urged members to treat attendance as a priority so the council can maintain quorum for votes. First vice president Lauren Clavin noted a motion marking a separate member’s recent absence as unexcused and said the council will schedule a vote next month on vacating that seat if there is no satisfactory explanation.
Members said the newly appointed representatives will receive assignments for school liaison duties and will be paired with existing members to share visits while the council reorganizes liaison loads. The council adjourned to a business meeting after appointing the two members and then returned to discuss budget items and calendar adjustments.
The council’s next regular meeting will follow the posted CEC 28 calendar; newly appointed members will begin liaison activities and meet with staff to confirm schedules and expectations.
