CRSB outlines work plan priorities and schedule ahead of December and January reviews

Staff reviewed the board’s statutory duty to adopt an annual work plan (local code) and proposed items for 2026: finish climate element policy work, coordinate aquifer protection planning, hold tours/briefings of the waste‑to‑energy facility, update the water conservation plan, and consider sustainability action plan updates. Staff suggested bringing a draft work plan to Council for adoption and requested board members share priorities in advance so staff can solicit Council feedback.
Board members suggested adding recycling/zero‑waste conversations, more focus on development‑code implications, and educational sessions on model approaches other cities have used successfully. Staff said they will consult Council members and aim to present a draft for board action in January so the work plan can be adopted by Council in early 2026.
Meeting logistics: staff reiterated upcoming meetings and workshops (community workshops Nov. 18–19, regular CRSB meetings on Dec. 11 and Jan. 8), and reminded members that December and January will be crucial windows for policy refinement and prioritization.
No vote was taken on the work plan during the Nov. 13 meeting due to lack of a quorum.
