The Des Moines County Board of Supervisors approved several personnel actions and recognized a longtime staff retirement during the meeting.
Personnel approvals included anniversary pay increases for conservation staff (noted annual rates: $51,771.28 for a natural resource manager and $45,533.78 for another conservation anniversary increase), an unpaid 15-hour leave for an office manager, four hires in the Local Health Department with effective dates and annual salaries ($49,150.40; $41,180.09; $34,841.06; and a leave request for a public health nurse), and a part-time kitchen cook hire for the correctional center at $16.80 per hour. Motions to approve the personnel items were made, seconded and approved by the board.
The board also read a retirement letter from Patty Brook, who wrote she will retire effective 11/28/2025 after nearly 19½ years coordinating court-related and mental-health services in Des Moines County. Supervisors thanked Brook for her service and the board approved acknowledging her retirement at the meeting.
No personnel appeals or dissent were recorded during the approvals; staff said the actions will be filed in the auditor’s office.
