The Des Moines County Board of Supervisors voted to approve two final plats during the meeting: Resolution 2025-57 for Alexander Acres and Resolution 2025-58 for a lot in the Third Edition Key subdivision.
For Alexander Acres (Res. 2025-57), staff described a one-lot minor subdivision that expanded an existing lot from roughly 30 to about 40 acres to attach adjacent property and provide access on Lakewood Drive. Staff noted Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) input that some Conservation Reserve Program (CRP) ground exists on the parcel; there was no indication the owner intends immediate development. The board moved, seconded and approved the final plat.
Resolution 2025-58 covered a one-lot split of about 1.5 acres on the north side of 155th Street in the Third Edition Key subdivision. The lot (Lot 6) will be split off the south end of Lot 3, has frontage along 155th Street and uses a shared existing driveway; an easement was widened to 66 feet to allow for potential future lot divisions. Staff recommended approval and the board approved the final plat.
Both approvals were presented as routine land-use actions; staff emphasized that apart from the lot-line changes there were no proposed additional developments attached to these plats in the record at this meeting. No appeals or abstentions were recorded in the board’s vote at the time of approval.
