The commission first considered a motion to retain the 5:30 p.m. schedule; that motion failed on roll call (Chair Goss and Vice Chair Swapp voting to deny retention, Commissioners Sicksta and Sprinkle also voting to deny, Commissioner McCoy and Commissioner Waters split their votes). The commission then passed a second motion to approve the change to a 5:00 p.m. start time; the roll-call vote recorded approvals by Chair Goss, Vice Chair Swapp, Commissioners Sicksta and Sprinkle and a denial by Commissioner Waters, and the motion carried.
Staff said the commission’s vote would allow direction to the city attorney to bring back a revised resolution or ordinance to the city council, with an implementation date at the commission’s first meeting in January.
