Aransas County Commissioners Court approved an order canvassing and declaring the results of the Nov. 4, 2025 constitutional amendment special election during a Nov. 2025 special meeting at the Aquarium Education Center in Rockport.
A court member moved to approve Order No. 17-2025, described in the meeting as the commissioners court's canvass of returns and declaration of results for the constitutional amendment special election. The motion was seconded and sent to a voice roll-call vote.
Kevin, an elections staff member, told the court turnout was slightly higher than the comparable 2023 election, reporting "a total of 3,668 ballots cast during this election." A commissioner added that their precinct saw about 25 percent turnout and said they were "very happy" with the participation level. No members of the public had signed up to speak.
During the roll-call vote, Commissioner Russo and the presiding judge recorded "Aye," and the presiding official announced the motion passed. The court then noted there were no additional agenda items or a closed session, approved a motion to adjourn and ended the special meeting.
The order approved at the meeting was titled Order No. 17-2025 of the Commissioners Court canvassing the returns and declaring the results of the Nov. 4, 2025 special election; the court did not discuss contested results or seek recounts during the session. The meeting took place at 706 Navigation Circle, Rockport, Texas 78382. The court provided no further breakdown of ballots by precinct in the session.
