The Zoning Board approved a residential swimming pool at 6 To Timo Way on Nov. 13 after the applicant demonstrated compliance with the VR‑district setbacks and provided a Historic District Commission approval.
Victoria Ewing (Tori) said the lot meets required distances for both the pool and associated mechanical equipment and that existing vegetation provides screening. The board applied its standard pool conditions (side and rear yard setbacks of 20 feet for pools and equipment) and found the proposal “in harmony with the general purpose and intent of the zoning bylaw.”
Board members discussed whether minor pool projects that meet all objective criteria could be handled administratively by the zoning administrator instead of appearing before the board. Zoning staff said such a change would require a bylaw amendment and staff will raise the topic with the planning director. The board approved the pool application by voice vote with the standard conditions noted in the staff report.
