Arapahoe Douglas Works announced a $3 million statewide apprenticeship grant pool (maximum $150,000 per award) funded by a US Department of Labor ABA 2 grant; businesses can apply through Nov. 30.
Arapahoe Douglas Works will release $3,000,000 in apprenticeship incentive grants intended to help local businesses expand registered apprenticeships, Sasha Easton, director, told the executive committee.
"We are releasing $3,000,000 in apprenticeship incentive grants for businesses to expand or scale registered apprenticeships or pre-apprenticeship opportunities," Easton said. She added the maximum award per business is $150,000 and that the funding comes from an ABA 2 grant from the U.S. Department of Labor.
Easton said the program includes eligibility criteria and a contact for questions on the Arapahoe Douglas Works website; the application window is open through Nov. 30. She also announced hiring Dante Young to lead a homeless veteran reintegration program and described recent adult-education grants to expand GED tutoring and basic education offerings.
Easton encouraged businesses and partners to connect interested employers to the program’s application portal and local career services teams.
