Palatine CCSD 15 superintendent to retire; board launches national search

Superintendent Dr. Hines told the Palatine CCSD 15 Board of Education that she will retire at the end of the current school year, a move the board described as "bittersweet" while announcing plans to begin a community-driven search for her successor.
President Adar said the board has released a community survey to inform the leadership profile for the next superintendent and urged residents to participate; she reported the district has received more than 1,000 responses so far. "That survey is to help us identify what is the leadership profile that we should have in our next superintendent," she said.
The board also issued a request for proposals from executive-search firms to assist with the process, with proposals due the night of the meeting. Staff said the board expects to vet and select a firm next week. Once retained, the firm will help organize focus groups and other engagement activities designed to gather input from community members, staff and families to inform the board's decision.
The district emphasized its intent to be inclusive and transparent during the search. The board asked that community members watch for the survey on ParentSquare and the district website and to participate in forthcoming engagement opportunities. No candidate timetable was finalized at the meeting; board members said more details will follow when the search firm is on board.
