The proclamation noted hospice’s role providing comfort, dignity and interdisciplinary support to people with life-limiting illness and their families, and encouraged citizens to discuss end-of-life wishes and support local hospice services. A representative of Foothills Compassionate Care thanked the council for the recognition and said, “It’s an honor to serve our community in the way that we do.”
The council encouraged residents to observe the month with appropriate activities and public education about advance care planning and palliative options.
