Juneteenth ambassadors honor Councilwoman Young; council schedules police briefing and clerk recognitions

In new business, Councilwoman Young moved that the Tampa Police Department and the Mobility Department appear in person at the Dec. 4, 2025 council meeting to provide a staff report and allow council and the public to discuss options to improve safety and pedestrian conditions on Ebor City and 7th Avenue; the motion carried unanimously. Council members expressed support for a public listening session organized by TPD Communications in advance of the Dec. 4 briefing.
Separately, Councilman Escott made a motion to schedule a Jan. 8, 2026 presentation to recognize Soo Ling Lucas Harris and Shirley Fox Knowles for earning the Master Municipal Clerk designation; the motion passed unanimously and the city clerk's office will arrange a formal presentation with a FACC representative.
