The Bruceville-Eddy City Council on Nov. 13 adopted a countywide hazard mitigation plan update that county and city officials say is necessary to pursue FEMA mitigation grants for storm and disaster hardening.
Tim Jeske, deputy emergency management coordinator for Waco and McLennan County, briefed the council on the plan and described how adoption enables access to mitigation funding for projects like safe rooms, hardened infrastructure and bridge replacement.
