Policy director Mr. Moore highlighted EHBD, which expands the number of district professionals responsible for staying current on artificial‑intelligence developments and their application in schools, and JFCJ, which updates discipline language in light of a state change that limits "zero‑tolerance" approaches but retains a baseline suspension of 180 days or expulsion for weapons cases subject to superintendent modification.
Mr. Moore also summarized a minor change to the district’s child‑abuse and neglect reporting definition to comply with House Bill 737. The packet contains a grayline summary of all nine drafts; these are being presented as a first read, and the board will not vote until the next policy cycle.
Board members asked for clarification on the weapons definition changes and were reminded that final decisions will reference statutory language when the policies return for action.
