Board continues Cliffside Beach Club membership increase pending detailed parking agreement

Attorney John Brescher, representing Cliffside, said the club and a neighboring restaurant have relied on a joint valet arrangement and internal management tools, and that "the existing...courtesy car and valet service" allowed the club to meet parking needs. Neighbors and counsel for the abutting business told the board the arrangement has worked historically but should be memorialized in a contractual parking‑management plan so future ownership changes do not undermine the plan. "The only way that this is going to work is with a joint arrangement as far as the parking is concerned," Arthur Reed said.
The board asked the parties to prepare a parking‑management plan showing where vehicles will be parked, how valet operations will function, how many spaces the valet can reliably accommodate, and a proposed legal agreement describing responsibilities if ownership changes. The applicant agreed and the board continued the item to the Dec. 8 meeting.
What happens next: Cliffside will submit a parking plan and draft parking agreement for staff and neighbor review before the Dec. 8 hearing.
