The Middleton School District board approved a proposal to recognize the Middleton High School NHS Podcast Club after a short presentation by adviser Mr. Hollinger. He told the board the club’s purpose is to introduce students to podcast production, analyze content and production techniques, and eventually produce school podcasts. The adviser said he hopes the club will help fill a gap in student journalism and could become a class if interest and demand grow.
A board motion to approve the club was made and seconded; trustees voted by voice to approve. Mr. Hollinger invited community members and prospective donors to a donor dinner and said the club will seek local support for its early production needs.
The district will complete any standard club registration and oversight steps with the high school and ensure advising and scheduling align with curriculum and activities.
