Pleasanton commission finalizes committee assignments, approves 2026 calendar and elects leadership

After adopting the work plan, commissioners moved to Item 5 to assign representatives and alternates for the commission’s committees. By acclamation the commission designated representatives and alternates for the Bicycle, Pedestrian & Trail Committee (BPTC), the Heritage Tree Board of Appeals, the Public Art Selection Subcommittee (PASS), and the cosponsored youth-sports user group. Staff consolidated the appointments into a single motion to approve the full slate for 2026, which the commission approved by voice vote.
The commission then reviewed the 2026 calendar. Staff explained a special meeting on December 11 had been added to permit review of cemetery budget materials prior to the end of the year; the meeting may be conducted via Zoom if commissioners prefer. The commission moved to approve the calendar, effective January 1, 2026, including the added December 11 date.
Finally, commissioners nominated and elected leadership for calendar year 2026. Commissioner Alfaro nominated Lisa Brown for chair; the nomination was seconded and approved by voice vote. Joanne Hall was nominated and elected vice chair for 2026. Staff noted that because a December special meeting was added, new officers will effectively assume duties beginning at that December meeting if present.
