Needham Conservation Commission issues three certificates of compliance

The Needham Conservation Commission voted Nov. 13 to issue certificates of compliance for three residential properties after staff confirmed required restoration and planting work had been completed.

Homeowner Brad Alley told the commission the work tied to an earlier order of conditions — an addition and later pond maintenance — had been completed and a separate notice of intent had been filed for ongoing pond work. ‘‘We can move forward,’’ Alley said, asking the commission to close out the prior file. Conservation staff inspected the site and reported that planting survival and the recent amendments were in order. The commission moved and voted to issue the certificate for 60 Wildwood Drive (DEP file 234-763).

At 27 Mallard Road a representative, Karen, said plantings and wetland markers were properly installed after a teardown and rebuild; staff confirmed an administrative modification in the as-built and recommended issuance of a final certificate of compliance (DEP file 234-909). The commission approved the motion by roll call.

Commissioners also revisited 160 Edgewater Drive, where staff said earlier requests for plan modifications had been met, markers were moved to the edge of plantings and four serviceberry shrubs were planted as requested. After debate the commission voted to issue a certificate of compliance for 160 Edgewater Drive (DEP file 234-893); the motion passed with one recorded ‘nay’ and the remainder in favor.

The votes were taken by roll call. Staff indicated required documentation and a letter will be attached to the Edgewater certificate. The commission scheduled routine follow-up as part of its enforcement updates if needed.
