Minneapolis BET approves pay-step increase for executive secretary Christina Kiderlein

At its Nov. 12 meeting, the Minneapolis Board of Estimate and Taxation approved a motion to authorize a new employment agreement increasing Executive Secretary Christina Kiderlein’s pay to the next available step, effective with pay for work performed beginning Nov. 16, 2025.

Vice President Pre Stinson read the motion to the board: "The motion is to authorizing a new employment agreement for the executive secretary, Christina Kiderlin, to increase her pay rate to the next available step in the pay progression schedule, effective with the pay period for work performed beginning 11/16/2025. Such employment agreement shall incorporate all other terms of employment as originally stated, and such increase shall not affect the date of service for future step progressions." The board moved, seconded and adopted the motion by voice vote.

Pre Stinson told colleagues staff had researched three follow-up items from the prior meeting: whether back pay was permissible (she reported staff had advised that back pay would be illegal), whether the executive secretary could be moved immediately to step 2 (the motion implements that change), and when she could advance to step 3 (noted she would be eligible at her anniversary date). After the motion passed, Commissioner Obeni thanked the vice president for bringing the item forward.

The action creates a new employment agreement for Kiderlein that raises her rate by one step in the pay progression and preserves her future step-progression anniversary dates. The board did not approve any retroactive pay.
