Port Angeles board approves two policy second readings and authorizes travel for incoming members

The Port Angeles School Board voted Thursday to adopt second readings of two district policies and approved a special resolution to cover travel expenses for soon-to-be board members attending the WASDA conference.

Board members approved Policy 3120 on enrollment after a motion and second with no further discussion. The board likewise approved the second reading of Policy 4130, Title I parental/guardian involvement; board members noted the version approved was not the previously amended draft and that an amended version will return for future consideration.

Superintendent Olsen explained a separate resolution authorizing district payment of WASDA conference costs for incoming members. "This resolution tonight is to give authorization for the school district, to pay for the costs of our, soon to be new board members to attend the WASDA conference," Olsen said, adding the conference is scheduled next week. The board moved and seconded the resolution and approved it by voice vote; board members said they would sign the resolution after the meeting.
