Wellness committee reports higher participation; county used incentives and plans upcoming events

Sarah said the wellness account balance is $81,974.32 and that a large portion of those funds will cover biometric event expenses. The committee also voted to run a food drive and to donate $200 each to two local organizations supporting children’s supplies. Sarah offered to present a fuller wellness overview to the full county board if the committee requests it.
Committee members asked whether wellness activity has a direct premium impact; staff said participation and prevention can reduce experience-rated costs over time but that premiums are not directly reduced in a one-to-one way by wellness expenditures. The committee will continue planning events and share materials and the wellness PowerPoint on the county intranet.
