Scott County fiscal court commits county funds for design of two parks projects

The Scott County Fiscal Court on Nov. 14 approved Resolution 25-17, a commitment to fund design phases for two parks projects proposed by Georgetown-Scott County Parks and Recreation.
Cam read the resolution, which cites the Interlocal Cooperation Act (KRS 65.210 and KRS 65.300) and the interlocal agreement approved by the Kentucky Department for Local Government in 2012 that established joint governance of parks by the city and county. The resolution specifically commits Scott County to share design costs equally with Georgetown for a proposed cloverleaf at Great Crossing Park and a pool addition at Cuffeleta Family Aquatic Center and directs the judge/executive to proceed with procuring design services for the county’s portion of the work.
Magistrate Chad Wallace moved approval and Dwayne Ellison seconded. The court voted in favor and the resolution passed. The judge said any design contract brought forward will be returned to the fiscal court for formal approval once procurement has been completed.
What happens next: Staff will pursue procurement of design services consistent with the interlocal agreement and will present proposed design contracts to the fiscal court for approval.
