Nicole Kramer, vice chairperson of the Charles County Board of Education, said the board received the district's annual audit at its Nov. 4 meeting and that external auditors raised no major concerns.
"Despite system challenges, the audit resulted in no major concerns or findings," Kramer said, summarizing the report presented by Chief Financial Officer Ms. Acton and Director of Finance Gabriela Sandoz, with Bill Early of CliftonLarsonAllen serving as the external auditor.
Kramer said the finance team is managing "a tight budget" alongside increased regulatory and "blueprint law" requirements. She thanked finance staff for their work on the audit and on day‑to‑day budget management.
The board did not take a formal vote on the audit during the remarks Kramer summarized; Kramer said the audit presentation concluded without major issues and that staff will continue routine financial oversight and reporting.
