Senior Advisory Board hears renovation update; HVAC work to precede final flooring

City staff updated the Farmers Branch Senior Advisory Board on the ongoing renovation at the senior center, saying contractors will be on site over the next several weeks to install new heating, ventilation and air‑conditioning equipment.
Staff explained that the contractor’s immediate priority is to control temperature and humidity in the space so the final floor installation can proceed without buckling. "Once we hit that checkpoint, then we can finish the floors," staff said, attributing earlier floor issues to humidity. The board was told work should be visible in the coming 3–4 weeks as the facilities team coordinates installations.
A new renovation placard has been placed at the front left of the building and the previous building placard will be moved to the right side. Members asked for continued updates as the project reaches humidity control and floor-completion milestones.
Next steps: staff will monitor humidity and report back when flooring work is scheduled to begin.
