Farmers Branch Senior Advisory Board readies Veterans Day volunteers, schedules holiday lunch

Staff and board members said the Veterans Day program on Nov. 11 is set and asked volunteers to arrive early to prepare giveaway bags. "We're gonna need 2, 4 drivers," a board member said as organizers discussed golf-cart drivers and volunteers for promotional items. The board scheduled a bag‑stuffing session for Nov. 10 at 1:00 p.m. to assemble giveaway items and confirmed Rotary will assist with food (hot dogs) on the day of the event.
The board also confirmed a holiday lunch planned for Dec. 19, and noted other November activities including a MetroCrest mobile food bank pack pantry and a photo-club self-portrait session. Staff asked volunteers to help both before and on the day of the event and said they would coordinate driver assignments and promotional distributions.
Next steps: volunteers were asked to sign up for shifts; staff will coordinate driver assignments and logistics for giveaway distribution and food service.
