Carlisle council approves routine contracts, auditing services and appointments

At its Nov. 13 meeting Carlisle Borough Council approved a series of routine administrative actions.
Council voted to approve two elevator‑repair projects through the Pennsylvania Bureau of Procurement with Otis Elevator Company for $93,474.36 under contract number 4400024365. The council also approved a three‑year contract with Smith Elliott Kearns and Company, LLC to prepare the borough's year‑end financial statements and comprehensive annual financial report for fiscal years 2025–2027, with an option to renew for 2028–2029.
Public Works reported awarding the lowest responsive bidders for annual chemical supplies used at the Carlisle water and wastewater treatment plants for the 2026 contract term (01/01/2026–12/31/2026). Council also adopted a resolution authorizing the mayor and borough manager to sign a reimbursement and maintenance agreement with PennDOT for two ADA curb ramps at East High and Spruce Streets as part of an East High Street resurfacing project.
On appointments, council confirmed Martin Seifring to a partial term on the Carlisle Borough Planning Commission (term to 02/28/2029) and Alvin Blitz to the Pension Advisory Commission (term to 03/31/2029).
