The North Clackamas School District Board of Directors heard a quarterly financial update on Nov. 13 that projected an ending fund balance for fiscal year 2025–26 of approximately $63,300,000 and reported revenues and expenditures so far are in line with historical expectations.
"The ending fund balance for fiscal year 25–26 currently projects to approximately 63,300,000," Executive Director of Finance and Business Services Matthew Makara said, noting the projection could be affected by reductions to the state school fund, possible reductions to federal and state grants, facility needs and changes in student enrollment.
Makara told directors the district's cash flow is adequate to cover current expenses and that the investment report included types of investments and maturities for district funds; he said tax turn-overs later in the year are expected to increase investments.
During the meeting the board also considered and approved the consent agenda, which included employment changes, minutes from the Oct. 23 meeting and policy revisions. Director Wachter moved to approve the consent agenda; Director Tam Trang seconded the motion. The board chair called for the vote and the motion passed 6–0.
No member requested that items be pulled from the consent agenda for separate discussion. The board noted that the OSBA election ballot items and one policy revision (policy IIA) will return to the board for action at the Dec. 11 meeting.
The district will report further updates in subsequent quarterly financial reports and as state or federal funding decisions are finalized.
