Cochise County Sheriff's Charity Ride distributes $50,000 to five local nonprofits

Sergeant Jesus Davidson of the Cochise County Sheriff's Office said the 2025 Cochise County Charity Ride donated $10,000 to each of five local recipients, totaling $50,000.
"The five charities were Sierra Vista Kiwanis Serving Kids, Bisbee Coaster Race Inc., Champions for Youth Foundation, and the Cochise County Sheriff's Office 'Shop with a Cop' programs in Benson and Douglas," Davidson said, listing recipients and thanking community sponsors.
Davidson said organizers broadcast an application on the event Facebook page for groups seeking funds and plan changes for the 2026 ride, including earlier recipient selection and rotating the on-road and off-road routes.
Sponsors named for 2025 included Ed Morris Automotive Group, Spartan Armor Systems, Law Tigers, Berg's Enterprises, American Southwest Credit Union, Wicked Limits, Desert RV, Longmire Well Services, Rightway Heating Cooling and Plumbing, Barnett's Towing, and L.D. Greer Construction.
The ride featured raffles and prizes including a side-by-side vehicle, MacBook Pros, iPad Airs and generators. Davidson said he expects the event to grow in 2026.
Next steps: organizers plan to announce route changes and early application dates for 2026; no formal government action was recorded during the broadcast.
