Key votes at the meeting included: approving the separation of JCMS middle‑school soccer into boys and girls teams (6–0) to allow equitable stipends for both programs; approving multiple personnel recommendations and volunteer coach appointments; approving a one‑time $400 stipend for classified employees (6–0); accepting a bundle of school donations as read; approving an additional $1,000 donation to the district’s Hope Food Program (approved with one abstention); authorizing the treasurer to make payments and transfers during an extended gap between meetings; and approving routine MOUs including a partnership with Ivy Tech for nursing students to work with school nurses.
Administration also presented a low‑cost roofing project timeline for Sand Creek Elementary with bids to be opened in December and a January recommendation to the board, and approved a PTO‑funded shelter house at NVE to support outdoor STEM activities. The board also approved entering a lease for a previously budgeted SPED bus and posted positions connected to a MindTrust/Indiana Learns tutoring program that will provide eligible students up to $1,000 in tutoring funded by the grant (no cost to the district).
