"People were confusing that with, 'Oh, that means I can't promote our schools,'" she said, adding that the policy as written allows sharing district posts and public-event photos but restricts posting images of coworkers or students without consent.
Board members asked whether the policy had received legal review; staff said the draft had been forwarded to the district attorney and that additional changes could be made on subsequent readings if legal feedback requires them. The board moved to approve the first reading and recorded a roll‑call vote in favor of advancing the policy to future readings.
The first reading clears the policy for additional consideration; the administration told the board it will incorporate any attorney-recommended edits on later readings.
