SAN MARCOS, Calif. — The San Marcos Unified School District Board of Education took several formal actions at its Nov. 13 meeting, approving routine and personnel items by voice vote.
What the board approved:
• Organizational meeting date: The board adopted Dec. 11, 2025, as the date for its annual organizational meeting (required to be held between Dec. 1 and Dec. 20), to elect officers for 2026. Motion: moved by Member Herrick; seconded by Member Martin; voice vote carried.
• Student expulsion: Staff recommended approval of student expulsion case number 2-25.26. Motion: moved by Member Meehan; seconded by Member Martin; voice vote carried.
• Superintendent employment agreement amendment: The board approved an amendment that adds an annual employer contribution to a 403(b) account for the superintendent equivalent to the IRS maximum deferral amount beginning in 2026; there were no changes to salary or term. Motion: moved by Member Martin; seconded by Member Ahmad; voice vote carried.
• Consent agenda: The consent agenda for discussion purposes was approved (moved by Member Carlson; seconded by Member Ahmad) by voice vote.
Votes and procedure: The meeting record indicates motions carried by voice vote with no recorded nays or abstentions; the board earlier noted all members were present.
