Zoning petition for commercial solar at 8016 Spring Creek Road laid over to December

The Winnebago County Board on Nov. 13 laid over an ordinance seeking site approval for a commercial solar energy facility at 8016 Spring Creek Road after petitioners asked for more time. Zoning Committee Chair Mister Webster moved to lay the ordinance over to the Dec. 11 board meeting; Mister Butida seconded the motion and the board approved it.
Webster noted the Zoning Board of Appeals is scheduled to meet on Dec. 10 and that the county's zoning committee will follow up. No substantive debate on the merits of the project was recorded at the board meeting; the petitioners requested the continuance.
The layover postpones any formal county action on the project until the petitioner appears and the committee can complete its review.
