The Winona County Board on Nov. 4 voted to decline an outdoor recreation grant from the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources for Apple Blossom Park after staff said the grant would be difficult to execute given current circumstances.
Staff recommended removal from the table and formal acceptance or decline; after a short staff explanation Commissioner Elsing moved to decline the grant, the motion was seconded and the board voted to decline.
Separately, the board approved a slate of Association of Minnesota Counties (AMC) delegates as recommended by staff and added Jill Schaeffer as the health and human services director contact on the delegation list. The motion approving the appointments carried on a voice vote.
