Board approves reappointments, budget amendments and routine administrative items
Summary
The board waived first readings and approved reappointments, passed budget amendments, approved administrative items including ambulance financing and EMS write-offs, approved property tax releases, and moved into closed session at the end of the meeting.
In new and routine business the McDowell County Board approved several administrative items and appointments.
The clerk presented first‑reading items for vacancies on boards. Commissioners waived the first reading and approved reappointments for incumbents (including Nikki Pittman for the Foothills workforce development board) where no other applicants had filed.
Commissioners also approved budget amendments after staff presented sales‑tax and property‑tax reports. The board approved administrative items including EMS write‑offs, NEBO water‑system leak waivers, and a financing resolution to acquire an ambulance (to be financed after delivery) as well as a reimbursement resolution to permit purchase pending financing. Property tax releases, refunds and discoveries were presented and approved as routine.
At the close of the open meeting the board moved into closed session on a motion that carried by voice vote.
All routine approvals were passed by voice votes recorded as "Aye." The board did not take additional public votes beyond the recorded approvals.
