The Mounds View School Board on Nov. 13 approved three 2025–27 labor agreements for teachers, principals and nutrition services that include multi-year pay increases and benefit improvements; the board approved each contract by voice vote.
Julie Coffey, the district’s executive director of human resources, presented three ratified contracts in a single package at the Nov. 13 Mounds View School Board meeting. The agreements cover 2025–27 and passed after the board moved and seconded each approval.
The teacher labor agreement includes a 2% salary increase in year one and a 3% increase in year two, a $300 increase to the district 403(b) contribution in year two and an increase in off-schedule payments, Coffey said. "We spent a lot of time in the 2325 contract updating language," she told the board, and the agreement also establishes labor-management workgroups to address teacher issues.
The principal agreement covers the same 2025–27 term and provides a 2.5% increase in the first year and a 2.75% increase in the second year as well as an increase to the 403(b) contribution, Coffey said.
The district also ratified the nutrition services labor agreement, which Coffey said includes a 2% increase in year one, a 3% increase in year two, higher certification pay in year two and a 403(b) increase. "Nutrition services is a group that has insurance that has really lagged behind our other groups," Coffey said; she told the board the new contract will provide insurance comparable to other bargaining groups.
Each contract was moved, seconded and approved by the board with no recorded opposition. The board did not discuss plan-level changes beyond the increases Coffey summarized.
The board’s approval of these three agreements is recorded in the meeting minutes and the district will implement salary and benefit changes per the contract timelines.
