Monroe County election supervisor outlines BlueDAG polling-site ADA survey software; commissioners ask vendor questions

Kylie Ferris, Monroe County election supervisor, told the commissioners the county is evaluating a BlueDAG compliance-survey contract that would let staff record ADA accessibility violations at polling places and provide suggested remedies. "The blue DAG is a compliance survey contract for polling locations," Ferris said, adding the county election board approved presenting the contract to the commissioners following a unanimous 11/06/2025 vote.
Ferris said county and city staff would be administrators and that election staff would use iPads or phones at polling locations to record issues. "So the software will also give the exact things that are incorrect that don't meet the ADA compliance and show all the violations. It'll also give you remedies on how to improve those," she said, describing the tool as a digital replacement for paper ADA checklists used previously.
Commissioner Kron said he has begun vetting BlueDAG's user agreements and has security questions. He said he scheduled a meeting with the vendor for the next day at noon and is not seeking to delay the process but wants answers before endorsing the software. "I'm not looking to delay process, but I'm looking to make sure we have our answers, questions answered and make sure we're secure with this new software before we move forward," Kron said.
Ferris noted Clerk Brown wants the county to consider the purchase promptly to include it in this year's budget and suggested placing the item on the Dec. 4 agenda. No motion was made; the board deferred formal consideration pending Kron's vendor meeting and follow-up at a future session.
The next procedural step is for staff to brief the commissioners after Kron's vendor meeting and for the board to consider the contract at the December meeting so the purchase could be included in the current budget cycle.
