Trustees asked clarifying questions about potential overlap with in-house legal services before approving the purchase authorization for public-works legal services.
Human-resources and operations: The board approved an amended standard agreement with the Department of General Services (Office of Administrative Hearings), approved the purchase of a 2026 Ford Explorer for career-technical education work-experience programs, and approved a grant-funded job description for a work-based learning coordinator under the Golden State Pathways program.
Consent and pulled item: The consent calendar passed after a trustee pulled item 13.5 for discussion; facilities staff explained the need to authorize a $25,000 purchase order to Atkinson, Adelson, Loya, Rood and Romo for developer-fee and public-works legal matters. The board approved the authorization after clarification that OMLO (in-house counsel) would be consulted when appropriate.
