Several board members asked for clearer interim targets and monitoring cadence so the board can evaluate progress midyear.
After discussion the board accepted the superintendent’s recommendation and will continue to monitor graduation cohort progress and other previously approved guardrails while the administration issues a bid and builds a four‑year strategic plan. A roll call vote recorded unanimous support among present members.
Board members also discussed the governance distinction between year‑long evaluation goals and longer strategic priorities, and directed staff to provide benchmark data (fall/winter/spring) to inform progress reviews. The administration said the five goals are intended as a baseline and will inform the forthcoming strategic planning process.
