Lenoir City Council schedules Habitat workshop, appoints Chamber representative and approves bills

The Lenoir City Council set a workshop with Habitat for Humanity for Dec. 1 at 4 p.m., discussed the possibility of a special-called meeting on Dec. 29 at 5 p.m. pending the workshop outcome, moved to appoint a council member to the Chamber of Commerce, approved payment of bills and adjourned.

Presiding official S1 announced the workshop and the possible special meeting, saying the council will send additional information about the Dec. 1 session and that a Dec. 29 meeting would depend on the workshop outcome. "We'll be sending out some more information on that on December 1 at 4PM," S1 said when introducing the scheduling.

S1 also introduced a request to add an item to the agenda recommending that 'Michelle' continue to serve as the city's representative to the Chamber of Commerce; the council moved and advanced the appointment as item 2. Later in the meeting a motion was made to appoint 'Miss Shields' to the Chamber of Commerce.

On routine financial business, a council member (S3) moved to approve payment of bills "when properly approved and funds are available." The motion was seconded and the council recorded aye votes for approval.

The meeting concluded after the recorded agenda items and a motion to adjourn. The minutes show routine procedural votes and no contested public-comment items on the record.
