Chandler Unified board approves roof replacement, catalogs, I‑20 tuition and athletic bleacher contract

Facilities presented the Bogle Junior High roof replacement project, noting a $3,868,363 award via a School Facilities Division building renewal grant and recommending contracting Progressive Roofing under cooperative procurement. Mr. Dunn said construction would likely begin in January with an expected 12–18 month timeline. The board moved and seconded the contract approval and the motion passed unanimously.
Administrators also presented and the board approved the 2026‑27 high‑school and junior‑high course catalogs after minor compliance edits. The board took a roll‑call motion to set the I‑20 tuition rate for FY 2026‑27 at $10,906.12, using the district’s established per‑pupil cost formula required by statute.
The board approved award of a Mohave cooperative contract (24ED‑NOR1‑1016) to Norcon Industries for telescopic and fixed spectator seating with estimated FY26 expenditures of $450,000. The Mohave/AZ Sports & Tourism Authority package includes a $250,000 matching grant and $125,000 district match; the site will contribute roughly $10,000 and additional relocation work to upgrade ACP was also described.
Each motion was moved and seconded on the record (motions by Mr. Heap and seconds by Ms. Mendoza in the order of items presented) and passed by the board. The consent agenda was approved earlier in the meeting by acclamation.
