The Chandler Unified School District governing board unanimously approved several action items at its Nov. 12 regular meeting, including a state‑funded roof replacement for Bogle Junior High, a new tuition rate for education‑visa (I‑20) students, and a cooperative contract to replace stadium bleachers at Perry High School.
The board approved a building renewal grant and recommended contracting Progressive Roofing under GPA contract 2106PDash02 for the Bogle Junior High roof replacement. Facilities staff said the School Facilities Division will fund the project at $3,868,363; work is expected to begin in January with a 12–18 month timeline. Mr. Dunn presented the scope and said any funds left if the project comes in under budget would be returned to the School Facilities Division.
On the district’s international student tuition, the board set the I‑20 student tuition for fiscal year 2026–27 at $10,906.12, citing the district’s established formula that divides maintenance and operations, classroom site, capital outlay and federal/state project funds by total student count. Administration said the figure represents the district’s per‑pupil cost (about $11,000 per pupil as a rule of thumb) using updated data for inflation and recent funding changes.
The board also approved the use of Mohave cooperative contract 24ED‑NOR1‑1016 and awarded Norcon Industries a contract for telescopic and fixed spectator seating systems for Perry High School, with estimated expenditures of $450,000 for the 2025–26 fiscal year. The district will match an Arizona Sports & Tourism Authority grant of $250,000 with approximately $125,000 in district bond funds; the site will contribute roughly $10,000 and the district will also fund relocation work to upgrade ACP High School’s temporary bleachers.
Other action items approved by the board included the consent agenda, the 2026–27 high school course catalog and the 2026–27 junior high course catalog. Each motion was moved and seconded by board members and passed without recorded opposing votes.
The meeting minutes show motions were made from the dais and that votes were taken by acclamation for most items; the I‑20 tuition vote was recorded by roll call and approved unanimously. The board president confirmed each motion passed.
