Sauk County approves WEDC grant application, hires consultants for campus redevelopment

The board’s motion passed with 26 votes in favor, none opposed, and four supervisors absent. Supervisor McAuliffe told the board: "I'd like to say that I'm happy that we're that we're making a considered effort to use that property appropriately." The resolution requires a two-thirds vote; the chair confirmed the required threshold and announced the resolution had passed.
Why it matters: The vote authorizes county staff to seek state economic-development funding and pays consultants to produce a redevelopment plan for a county property that the board has prioritized for adaptive reuse.
