Town’s Raymond Park well permit denied; staff to reapply in December

Director Dan Becker told the board that Prosper’s application for a permanent well to serve Raymond Park was denied by the regional groundwater board and that staff will reapply in December.
"We were turned down," Dan said, reporting the permit received three yes votes and two no votes and noting the regional board requires a unanimous vote for approval. He said the town will seek reconsideration and, if needed, follow attorney guidance and exhaust administrative measures before pursuing further legal steps. Dan also warned the board the permit outcome has budget implications because the recently adopted budget assumed the well would be constructed and would supply water for the park.
Staff said they will keep the board updated by email and report back on the reapplication outcome after the December hearing.
