The Keene City Council voted unanimously on Nov. 17, 2025, to adopt Resolution No. 2025-482, calling a runoff election for council Place 2 and Ward 3 to be held on Dec. 13, 2025. City staff provided early-voting dates, hours, and locations ahead of the runoff.
City staff (Miss Russell) explained early voting will begin Dec. 5 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.; there will be no weekend voting that week; and Dec. 8–9 will be from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Early voting locations include the Johnson County elections office in Cleburne and the small meeting room of the community center. "Early voting can be done at the elections office in Cleburne or here in the small meeting room of the community center," Miss Russell said. On election day, Dec. 13, voting will be held only in the community center’s small meeting room.
A councilmember moving the resolution and another councilmember seconded; the presiding officer recorded the motion on the floor and announced a unanimous vote to adopt the resolution. One councilmember noted a scheduling conflict and said they would be on a cruise starting Dec. 13 and encouraged voters to vote early.
The council also said it will schedule a reception for candidates following the runoff. The next regular council meeting is scheduled for Dec. 4, 2025, at 6 p.m.
