The Macedonia Planning Commission approved tenant signage for a spa at the Cipriani Retail Plaza on Nov. 17 after the applicant removed proposed frosted window-panel signs from the submittal.

City planner Mister Prince summarized his Nov. 8 report: the primary wall sign is individual internally illuminated channel letters totaling roughly 47 square feet (within area limits) and the door signage showing hours and contact information is acceptable. Prince noted, however, that the originally submitted application included multiple frosted window panels for services ("restore, relax, refresh, facials and massage") that likely would have violated the Town Center District’s window-signage rule (117907F4A, the 25% standard for window signage).

The applicant said after the planner’s memo that the frosted window graphics were removed from the package and the storefront will keep only the door hours sign and interior office-window graphics not visible from the exterior. Commissioners moved to approve the wall and door signage, making the approval subject to administrative confirmation that the frosted window panels have been removed. The motion carried by voice vote.

Next steps: staff will confirm administratively that the window frosting and extra panels are omitted from final permit drawings before issuing the permit.
