Hurlburt Field commander presses county for help on traffic, housing and family services

Mark Hamilton, commander of the 1st Special Operations Wing at Hurlburt Field, told the Okaloosa County Board of County Commissioners on Nov. 18 that the installation's mission and personnel needs are deeply connected to the county's infrastructure and services. "We like to think of ourselves as your neighbors and partners," Hamilton said, describing Hurlburt Field as "a small city within a city" with more than 20,000 associated personnel and multiple tenant organizations.
