The Johnson County Plan Commission voted Nov. 17 to approve its 2026 meeting calendars for the plat committee, plan commission, hearing officer and technical review, adopting minor date adjustments suggested by staff to avoid holiday conflicts.
Planning staff told commissioners that May meetings would move due to Memorial Day, the November meeting was proposed for Nov. 16 (the week before Thanksgiving) instead of the usual week of Thanksgiving, and December options included Dec. 21 rather than the week of Christmas. "So if you want, we can move that to November 16 instead of November 23," staff said when outlining the proposed dates.
Commissioner Steve Hickman moved to approve the calendars as printed (incorporating the discussed adjustments); Robert Page seconded. The motion passed by voice vote with no opposition recorded.
Commissioners discussed coordinating calendar adjustments with the Board of Zoning Appeals calendar but did not change BZA dates at this meeting. No fiscal impacts or additional staff directives were recorded.
